Örebro County Floorball Federation recently organized the county's first International floorball tournament. Five local Swedish club teams and a school team from Singapore, the Parisian Elementary School, participated in this mixed tournament for girls and boys 10 yrs and younger.
Here is the long promised "Photo Diary" from Pasirian's visit, including the school visit and game photos.
The tournament final was KFUM Örebro (YMCA) vs. Pasirian and was won by KFUM Örebro.
Pasirian went undefeated the the group play, a very impressive feat. While KFUM's only loss was to Pasirian. So it's no surprise that KFUM was seeking revenge and looking forward to facing Singaporeans in the final.
The game couldn't have started any better for "YMCA", shocking everyone by scoring on their first shot on goal just 12 seconds into play! Even so it was a very even game where both teams countered each other very well. Both teams displayed a strong defensive game, successfully neutralizing the attacks or blocking many shots, all the while the goalies in both team played very impressively. Spectators were dazzled by these youngsters' speed and quality of play, a true team effort from both sides.
When KFUM took the lead again with their 4-3 goal with six minutes to play, it looked and felt like this game would be heading into overtime because Pasirian kept a steady pressure. But the youth team dressed in blue kept a cool head and were at the game's end crowned the tournament champion of Örebros first International Floorball Tournament.
Congratulations to the final teams, both worthy contenders. AND A BIG CONGRATS TO KFUM ÖREBRO WHO WON THE FINAL!

INTERNATIONAL FLOORBALL TOURNAMENT 2009
Not everyone is sleeping through their fall break this year! This week about one hundred pepped up kids are up early to participate in an International mixed floorball tourament with specially invited guests from the country of Singapore. The tournament has been organized by the Örebro Country Floorball Federation. Fifteen girls and boys from ages nine to eleven arrived in Sweden on Sunday after their 14-hour long flight from Asia... just to play floorball!
The Pasirian Floorball Club are playing together with Swedish mixed teams (min. 2 girls playing) from IFK Kumla, KFUM Örebro and three teams from the host Lillån IBK, in a friendship tournament from Turesday the 27/10 until Thursday the 28/10 in the Lillån School Arena. The group games (2x20 min) are to be played from 10 am to 6 pm and the two best teams will meet each other for a big final on the final day, Thursday 12.00 am.
