Floorball actually has quite long traditions in Japan. In 1995 a japanese team participated in the open European Championships in Switzerland. In the group play Japan lost four games, scoring just one goal (against Finland that later won the gold) and letting in 80. Since then there has happened a lot. The world of floorball has grown and so has the sport in Japan. In Spain 2004 Japan beat Canada in the C-division final to earn their spot in the B-division for the WFC2006.
